SGT frog is by tokyopop and their prices sometimes goes up as high as 18.99 (retail) Blade of the Immortal Series. Viz books are relatively inexpensive at likely either 7.99 - 8.99. The Free to read is no different than you going to your local B&B and browsing through them. Manga is a collectable. Don't compare and debase it, if you simply cant afford it.

i knew just by looking at preview pictures at comic con i'd like this series. and its great how its free to read cause it s just too much too read the book cause i mean 10$ for an issue of sgt.frog? and higher when i have better things to spend $ on but anyways this is a great series so far but only 6 chapters? but u know im only *held by writer* so i probably dont have the right to say that compared to how my art is...

Out of all the manga that I've see since Case Closed! and Naruto I deem this the best of the best. In fact I think that Hyde nad Closer are far better than Naruto and Dragon Ball.

I'll vouch for Hyde and Closer anyday. I only hope that Hyde and Closer get their own anime on Cartoon Network and video games on both the Nintendo DS, PSP and iPod Touch.

Why is this manga rated T+? theres not alot of blood in it so far. Naruto has more voilence than this. There has been no sexy stuff or fan service (yet). It dosen't make much sense to me.

I think that the hair thing in chapter 5 looked A LOT like Yura's hair in Inu Yasha. They could have done something diferent like........... I don't know but thats what I think.

this is a great anime, just the first 5 chapters aint that understandable in the plots, go to one manga and read up to chapter 35, then 36 and over will be posted next year, well thats what i hear

trust me when i say this series will pick up soon enough. Four chapters in there isn't a great deal to praise it on, but having read on, th story begins to pick up the pace and it really does become interesting.

I wasn't expecting much when I started reading this series, but after two chapters I can say I've been pleseantly suprised. What I liked the best was the whole message of 'believing in yourself' that appears in each chapter. Sure, this is a common motif in many shonen manga, but the way it's presented here just has something. It also helps that there was actual character development in the second chapter. I can't wait to read more

hmmm so basically this series has given me two types of vibes: 1 shaman king except it's not ghosts and Reborn!. So far this series seems promising and i'll be looking into it week after week or depending on when it get's updated around here.

Hyde & Closer looks very interesting so far. It has its own story line, not like the others who seem to get ideas from the really good manga, such as Bleach (best), Naruto, Death Note, etc. I look foward to reading more of this.

I like this story. Its different from most manga people would read. It made sense. Everything tide into the story. It didnt really dwell on anything. Shunpei isnt your average crybaby like most of the main characters who people claim to be wimps. The flashback was cool because it told how Hyde and Shunpei met and it expressed the relationship between Shunpei and his grandad. Mostly everything we needed to know was told in this chapter. I give it 5 stars

I'll admit, when I looked at the illustrations, this series didn't look like something I'd like. I never read things with a goofy-looking mascot, but I decided to give it a chance, and I was pleasantly surprised! The story is shaping up to be quite interesting, there's some great humor, and I love a stuffed bear with attitude!

Kinda of a twisted version of Rozen Maiden, except with a super macho Chocolate cigarette chomping Mike Hammer-like stuffed bear battling against cursed stuffed animals instead of Goth-Loli dolls beating the cotton out of each other. First chapter was funny and a bit creepy but I don't think it's a series to follow in the long haul. Could very easily fall into the monster of the week rut.

Closer is the average middle schooler: he has no family.He is picked on and not to mention whoever eats his heart will gain enormous power! Well maybe not your average middle schooler! You see his granfather was the best mage(magican whatever you call it!) in the world. And every thinks that if they eat his grand son they will have enormus power. That is where closer comes in. I don't want to spoil anymore all i will say is that is a good series!
