Recca Hanabishi

First-year high school student Recca Hanabishi appears to be a normal, albeit eccentric teenage boy who is obsessed with ninja…until he finds out about his true identity. Recca has the ability to manipulate fire and is heir to the Hokage ninja clan leadership. He escaped a tumultuous time 400 years in the past to find safety in the future.

Yanagi Sakoshita

A classmate of Recca’s, Yanagi has the power to heal others with her touch. Recca calls her Princess, but he doesn't realize that they have a special connection from the distant past.

Fuko Kirisawa

Recca’s classmate and childhood friend. Quite the tomboy, Fuko also habitually gets into brawls with Recca, but she actually appears to have feelings for him. Fuko also becomes one of Recca’s key allies. She uses the madogu Fujin to control wind.

Tokiya Mikagami

Second-year student at Recca’s high school. Tokiya lost his parents to an accident and his sister to a violent crime. He’s out to get revenge for the death of his sister and feels a special bond with Yanagi because she looks like his sister. Tokiya wields Ensui, a blade that controls water.

Kurei

Recca’s half brother from 400 years in the past. Kurei was supposed to be the successor to the Hokage until Recca was born. Kurei was inadvertently pulled into the future when Kagehoshi used jikuryuri on Recca. Like Recca, Kurei also has the ability to manipulate fire.

Kôran Mori

Kurei’s adoptive father in the future. Rich and powerful, Kôran’s greed drives him to seek out a way to make himself live forever. He believes Yanagi and her special power is the key to unlocking the secrets of immortality.
