Kosuke Ueki
A first-year student at Hinokuni Junior High. He’s been given the power to transform trash into trees and has decided to become the tournament’s champion.
Ai Mori
Ueki’s classmate. She’s found out about the tournament and has decided to protect Ueki’s talents.
Mr. Kobayashi (Mr. K)
A teacher at Hinokuni Junior High who actually happens to be one of the King candidates. He gave Ueki the power to turn trash into trees. Mr. K broke the rules to save Ueki from Robert and as a result was sucked into the underworld.
Robert Haydn
A second-year junior high student who has the power of soap bubbles. Robert is considered the favorite to win the tournament. He was sucked into the underworld along with Mr. K, but came back alive. He is the leader of Robert’s 10.
Margaret
Robert Haydn’s King candidate and said to be the favorite to win the throne.
Celestial Beast (Tenko)
Celestial beasts act as meters to measure celestial power levels. Tenko was falsely accused and imprisoned in the underworld, but Mr. K helped him escape to the human world.
