Kazuma Azuma
A 16-year old boy who dreams of making Ja-pan, the perfect bread for Japan. Kazuma has the “Hands of the Sun”—exceptionally warm hands perfectly suited to kneading bread dough, which literally gives him an edge to rise with bread.
Tsukino Azusagawa
The illegitimate granddaughter of the owner of the famous Pantasia bakery, Tsukino is acting manager of Pantasia’s South Tokyo Branch.
Kyosuke Kawachi
Aspires to being Japan’s number one bread artisan. Kawachi hails from the Kansai area in Japan. Although he may not have as much raw talent as Kazuma, he goes through trials and tribulations to attempt to make up the difference.
Ryo Kuroyanagi
Artisan baker for Pantasia’s main branch. He has an acute palate and often serves as a food judge. His over-the-top reactions when he tasting good bread belies his normally staunch nature.
Ken Matsushiro
Manager of the Pantasia’s South Tokyo Branch. He’s considered the number one French bread craftsman in Japan. He has a passion for his craft and sports a stylish ’fro.
Kai Suwabara
A serious baker who follows the way of bread much in the manner of a samurai.
Kageto Kinoshita
A baker at Pantasia’s South Tokyo Branch. Kageto is the workhorse of the shop who gets none of the glory that the other bakers do. He can’t be doing all that work by himself, can he?!
Shigeru Kanmuri
A baker from Shinjuku Central Branch, Kanmuri’s a genius who graduated from Harvard at age 16. He applies his great scientific knowledge to baking the ultimate bread.
Meister Kirisaki
The main shop’s general manager, and the only baker to ever receive Pantasia’s highest title “Meister” from the owner, Tsukino’s grandfather.
Mizuno Azusagawa
The youngest granddaughter of owner of Pantasia. Mizuno is most likely be the next acting manager of the Shin Tokyo branch.
Yukino Azusagawa
The oldest granddaughter of Pantasia’s owner, and Tsukino’s sister-in-law. Yukino is manager of Shinjuku Central Branch.
